SUMMARY:DAC Christmas Cares 2023
DESCRIPTION:Each year\, the staff at the DAC try to give back to their community by supporting a couple of local families who are currently experiencing economic hardship for one reason or another. We here at the DAC would love to see all children have a Merry Christmas and want to help out in a way that we are able to. \nHow it works: \nEvery Friday at the DAC is Casual Friday for our staff. This means our staff are allowed to wear work-appropriate shirts with writing\, a hat\, or sweatpants. Each staff contributes $1+ on each Friday they decide to participate. All of the funds are collected throughout the year and put together to help support children in our community who\, without help\, may not get to have the Christmas every child deserves. \nIn the past we have supported an entire Christmas for 2+ (our highest was 6) families but the need is always so much more. For this reason\, we are going to be limiting the gifts to one or two per child so we are able to help out more families and this way we can ensure more children at least get something to open on Christmas morning. If you feel there is a child or children you know who could benefit from our program\, please fill out the form below. Please know that we will be unable to help every family that is nominated\, but we do our best. \nNomination deadline is Monday\, December 11th at 8am. Chosen families will be called on Monday\, December 18th for notification that they have been chosen for this year’s DAC Christmas Cares. Gifts will be available for pick-up from the DAC between December 20 and 22\, just before the holiday from 7:30am-4:00pm. At this time\, we are unable to deliver gifts. \n  \nNominations for the 2023 Winona DAC Christmas Cares has closed.

SUMMARY:3rd Annual Mini Photo Sessions
DESCRIPTION:The Winona County DAC is once again teaming with Those Gals Photography for our 3rd Annual Fundraiser Photo Event. Those Gals are not only dropping their standard price for our event\, but also giving back 50% of the proceeds to the DAC! We couldn’t ask for a more gracious contribution to us for a fundraiser; but as Ashley states\, “I realize what you do for the community\, and I appreciate it. This gives me a chance to do what I love while contributing to your organization and giving families a new wonderful memory that can be cherished for years to come.” \nSessions are perfect for updating your family photos\, holiday cards\, a best friend session\, date night session\, photos of your littles\, photos of your beloved pet\, or whatever you may want! Your photographer will be Ashley and she is wonderful with making accommodations and tailoring each session to be your own. \nSessions will be held in Winona with the location to be announced as the date gets closer. As these sessions tend to book quickly\, I wanted to get the form up as soon as possible! \n  \nThe price for each session is $60.00. Each session includes: \n*A 10-minute mini session. Perfect for those who don’t have a lot of time to spend for photos and also those who don’t like to hold still for long. \n*At minimum of 10 edited digital photos with rights released in an online gallery. (This means you can get them printed wherever you want and don’t have to worry about spending an arm and a leg for print outs!) –Psst: If you’ve booked with us in the past\, you know that Ashley is very generous\, and you usually always get more than 10 edited photos. ;) \n*No maximum number of persons for your photo session to be included in the photos. \n*Pets are welcome to be in the photos with you as long as they are friendly\, and you clean up after them. \n*You will leave with an instruction card on how to access your photos and contact information in case you need assistance.  \n  \nImportant information: \n*If you have any questions on payment/scheduling\, please contact Jenna as she is the coordinator for the event. SUMMARY:DAC Christmas Cares 2022
\nNomination deadline is Thursday\, December 1st at 8am. Chosen families will be called on Monday\, December 19th for notification that they have been chosen for this year’s DAC Christmas Cares. Gifts will be available for pick-up from the DAC between December 20 and 22\, just before the holiday from 7:30am-4:00pm. At this time\, we are unable to deliver gifts. \n  \nNominations are now closed. We look forward to helping others in our community next year.

SUMMARY:2nd Annual Mini Photo Sessions
DESCRIPTION:The Winona County DAC is once again teaming with Those Gals Photography for a fundraiser photo event. \nSessions will be held near the old deer park in Winona just off of Prairie Island Road. The location is 915 Prairie Island Road\, Winona\, MN 55987. This location will say you are going to the “Latsch Shelter.” See more informatio below for set up and directional photos. \n  \nThe price for each session is $50.00. Each session includes: \n*A 10-minute mini session. Perfect for those who don’t have a lot of time to spend for photos and also those who don’t like to hold still for long. \n*At minimum of 10 edited digital photos with rights released in an online gallery. (This means you can get them printed wherever you want and don’t have to worry about spending an arm and a leg for print outs!) \n*No maximum number of persons for your photo session to be included in the photos. Please do not contact Ashley. If you would prefer to schedule over the phone\, please contact Jenna. \nPhone: 507-452-1798 Email:jvolkman@winonadac.org \n*The online gallery will be emailed to you so we MUST have an email on file. Galleries are set up for your viewing and downloading 1-2 weeks after the session. The gallery is active for 14 days for you to download your images.  \n*In the event of rain\, the sessions will be rescheduled for Saturday\, October 22. You will keep the same time slot\, unless you ask otherwise and there is an opening for a new time.  \n*No refunds for weather related events or cancellations. \n*The photo props will be disinfected between sessions for everyone’s safety.  \n  \nBelow is a sample photo of the background for this year’s photos.  \n \n  \nThe below photo is a directional photo from the Winona DAC (The yellow is Hwy 61) to the Latsch Shelter. The exact location is 915 Prairie Island Road\, Winona\, MN 55987 \nPlease Note: Latsch Shelter is NOT the same as the popular swimming location.  \n \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nThe photo below is a locational photo to show you where to turn once on Prairie Island Road. Use the red star as a reference to around where the photos will be. (There is no longer a playground at the location.) You will see the girls and the set up once you pull in towards the Latsch Shelter. \n \n  \nAll proceeds from this event will be going towards the DAC Backyard Upgrade \nUpgrade includes: \n\nAdding a wheelchair glider to the swing set. (This way all of our individuals can have the chance to utilize said swing set!)\nAdding two more bays of regular swings (For less waiting time and turn taking which equals more fun!)\nPlanting a cherry\, 2 pear\, and 2 apple trees (To continue the wealth of gardening knowledge for our individuals and even some staff. A Butter Braid® pastry is a unique and delicious homemade frozen pastry loaf that the customer lets rise 8-12 hours and then bakes to produce a delicious breakfast\, dessert\, or dinner side. They are hand-braided and layered with real butter to create a sweet\, flaky pastry with incredible flavor that melts-in-your mouth! SUMMARY:Give to the Max Day 2021
DESCRIPTION:We are once again participating in GiveMN.org’s Give to the Max Day on November 18\, 2021 \nWhat is GiveMN? \nGiveMN links donors with organizations that are working to make Minnesota a better place. Its online giving website\, GiveMN.org\, enables charitable giving any time and any place\, allowing people to donate with ease and enthusiasm. GiveMN brings innovation\, energy and fresh ideas to Minnesota generosity. \nGiveMN is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Launched in 2009 by Minnesota Community Foundation\, GiveMN is supported by many generous foundation and corporate partners from around the state\, as well as generous individuals. \nIt is a special 24-hour period to highlight the work and worth of nonprofits and schools all across Minnesota\, and a day for generous Minnesotans to give back what they can to the causes and organizations that mean the most to them. And as a bonus\, GiveMN offers thousands of dollars in prizes to provide a little excitement\, start some friendly competition\, and help donors make their dollars go farther. \nIn its first 10 years\, donors have given nearly $170 million to 10\,000 nonprofits and schools as part of Give to the Max Day. \nGive to the Max Day 2021 will be held from midnight to 11:59 pm on Thursday\, November 18\, 2021. \nHowever\, you can donate as early as November 1st! \n  \nHow to donate: \nYou can donate by clicking on the below link! \nWinona County DAC | GiveMN \n  \n

SUMMARY:DAC Christmas Cares
\nIn the past we have supported an entire Christmas for 2+ families but the need is always so much more. Due to this we are hoping to help more families with a gift or two per child. We would like to see more children be able to at least get a little something for Christmas so we are changing it up this year.  If you feel there are a child or children you know who could benefit from our program please fill out the form below. Please know that we will be unable to help every family that is nominated\, but we do our best. \nNomination deadline is Monday\, December 6th. Chosen families will be called on Tuesday December 14th for notification that they have been chosen for this years DAC Christmas Cares. Gifts will be available for pick-up from the DAC between December 16 and 17th\, just before the holiday week from 7:30am-4:30pm. At this time\, we are unable to deliver gifts. \n  \nWe would like to thank everyone who nominated a family. We were able to help 3 families this year with a total of 9 children. All gifts have been given to the families and we hope everyone has a wonderful upcoming holiday.  \n  \n  \n
