SUMMARY:Thanksgiving Lunch
DESCRIPTION:Eat. Eat. Then Repeat! \nOn November 24th we will once again be serving a Thanksgiving meal for the individuals of DAC.  I think I can speak for all the staff at DAC when I say we are truly thankful to know every single one of you. This meal is contributed by the DAC staff and therefore FREE for the individuals. To also pay to forward we will be collecting food for the Winona Food Shelf and individuals are encouraged to donate a food item if they so choose\, but it is not required. \nIf you have any questions\, please feel to contact Jenna. Happy Thanksgiving! \nMain highlights: Lunch will be served at 11:30am\, and individuals do not need to bring in ANY money for this meal.

DESCRIPTION:We are once again participating in GiveMN.org’s Give to the Max Day on November 18\, 2021 \nWhat is GiveMN? \nGiveMN links donors with organizations that are working to make Minnesota a better place. Its online giving website\, GiveMN.org\, enables charitable giving any time and any place\, allowing people to donate with ease and enthusiasm. GiveMN brings innovation\, energy and fresh ideas to Minnesota generosity. \nGiveMN is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Launched in 2009 by Minnesota Community Foundation\, GiveMN is supported by many generous foundation and corporate partners from around the state\, as well as generous individuals. \nIt is a special 24-hour period to highlight the work and worth of nonprofits and schools all across Minnesota\, and a day for generous Minnesotans to give back what they can to the causes and organizations that mean the most to them. SUMMARY:DAC Christmas Cares
DESCRIPTION:Each year\, the staff at the DAC try to give back to their community by supporting a couple of local families who are currently experiencing economic hardship for one reason or another. We here at the DAC would love to see all children have a Merry Christmas and want to help out in a way that we are able to.  \nHow it works:  \nEvery Friday at the DAC is Casual Friday for our staff. This means our staff are allowed to wear work-appropriate shirts with writing\, a hat\, or sweatpants. Each staff contributes $1+ on each Friday they decide to participate. All of the funds are collected throughout the year and put together to help support children in our community who\, without help\, may not get to have the Christmas every child deserves. \nIn the past we have supported an entire Christmas for 2+ families but the need is always so much more. Due to this we are hoping to help more families with a gift or two per child. We would like to see more children be able to at least get a little something for Christmas so we are changing it up this year.  If you feel there are a child or children you know who could benefit from our program please fill out the form below. Please know that we will be unable to help every family that is nominated\, but we do our best. \nNomination deadline is Monday\, December 6th. Chosen families will be called on Tuesday December 14th for notification that they have been chosen for this years DAC Christmas Cares. Gifts will be available for pick-up from the DAC between December 16 and 17th\, just before the holiday week from 7:30am-4:30pm. At this time\, we are unable to deliver gifts. \n  \nWe would like to thank everyone who nominated a family. We were able to help 3 families this year with a total of 9 children. All gifts have been given to the families and we hope everyone has a wonderful upcoming holiday.  \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Halloween Party 2021
DESCRIPTION:Happy Howl-oween All! \nOn Friday October 29\, we will be hosting a very scary (okay not so scary) Halloween party at the DAC for our individuals. This will be an all-day event with activities\, treats\, and lots of candy (sorry!). Individuals are encouraged to come in costume for the party dressed fab-boo-lous! \nIndividuals will still need to bring a lunch for the day. We will supplement with treats\, punch\, and of course candy; but please make sure they come to the DAC packed with a nutritious lunch. \nWe would really appreciate it if individual would bring in $3.00 to help cover the costs of the day’s activities. \nAlso\, I would make some sort of skeleton joke\, but I fear you wouldn’t find it very humerus. \nAnyway… If you have any questions\, don’t hesitate to contact us. DESCRIPTION:Happy Holidays! \nThis year we are doing things a little bit different and we’re combining our Christmas Party and our New Year Pageant into a 1920’s themed extravaganza. This party is going to have it all! Tasty snacks and drinks\, great music\, gifts\, an amazing show put on by the individuals of DAC and Santa will even be making an appearance. Individuals are encouraged to come dressed in their 1920’s finest or in an equally festive holiday outfit. \nWe’re asking that individuals bring in $3.00 to help cover some of the cost for the party.
